VIP is the community planning program of the Texas Historical Commission. VIP asks residents how they want their community to look and feel and provides the necessary tools to help Beaumont retain its identity and sense of place as it changes and grows. The VIP program will meet once a month for eight months, starting in February and ending in September. At the end of the program, Beaumont will have a preservation action plan that will make historic buildings and other assets fundamental parts of continued economic and cultural growth.

The first VIP meeting is Preservation 101. THC staff will provide an overview of historic preservation and the tools of the trade. Community members will be able to ask questions and have any concerns directly addressed. Your participation is essential!

The workshops will be held on the third Tuesday of each month starting in February for 8 months. All meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Heritage Hall, 2985 French Rd., on the grounds of the John Jay French Historical House Museum.
