Ford Fields is preparing for another successful year of baseball and softball tournaments, including the brand new addition of the USFA Texas State Tournament. The Fields are in great shape, which was evident the past two weekends as the season kicked off with the Valentine’s Day Classic and Spring Slam.
These tournaments represent a significant economic impact to the area from hotel, restaurant, gas and other purchases family members make during their stay over the course of a tournament weekend. Last year’s baseball tournaments were responsible for over 7919 hotel room-night bookings, according to a report from the Beaumont CVB.

Baseball tournaments at Ford Fields are organized by Morgan Walker, a former professional baseball player and part owner of the Southeast Texas Baseball Academy. Co-owner Jason Tyner is signed to play with the Minnesota Twins. The Academy, near the Fields at Ford Park, offers professional instruction in batting, fielding and pitching to area youth.
